Faduma Gure is a Toronto-based curator, producer, and filmmaker renowned for her dedication to creating spaces for Black creatives, nerds, and friends to connect. As the founder of The Black Nerds, she has hosted dynamic events ranging from video game tournaments to film screenings and art exhibitions.
With a passion for cinema, Faduma programmed two successful film festivals before taking on her current role at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF). As TCAF’s Programming and Partnerships Creative Lead, she left an indelible mark on the festival's narrative.
Beyond her work in events, Faduma is also the Creative Director of Retro Heads, a beloved Black-owned vintage store based in Toronto. Currently, she is working on a documentary project centered around Retro Heads, delving into their rich history and cultural significance.
Recently, Faduma continues to inspire as a programmer at The Revue Cinema, where she organizes a monthly series called The Black Nerds, which celebrates Black stories, creators, and communities in cinema.
